Please Subscribe | Check It! Thursday's

Anybody else subscribe to their favorite websites??  For instance, Target, Old Navy, Sanrio, Forever21??
Why do we subscribe to such temptation?  I mean, are we not torturing ourselves, wishing we could stop what we're doing, and whip out that credit card???

Personally, I'm not a "window" shopper.  Please, don't ever ask me to join you for a walk around the mall to "window shop".  I will politely decline in order to save my sanity.

So anywho, back to the emails.
www.etsy.com tortures me every single day. Every. Single. Day.
I wish I could buy out every. single. item they sell.

For those that know me, know I loveeeee vintage anything and everything!
LOVE IT!  And that's what Etsy offers.  Its like the next eBay, except you don't bit for items, and then get really really angry if you're outbid. Nope.  You browse, browse, browse, and then you do some more browsing, and THEN you whip out that plastic and pay for it right then and there.  Most items are handmade or passed down from the years and years ago, which makes it even more "ooh" and "ahhh" worthy!

So, I object to me being the ONLY torture-ess here, quick, jump on the vintage bandwagon, and go have a lookie!

btw. they also sell logos!
Andddd if you're creative, and like to sew, knit, or whatever your hands work so hard on, you can even set up shop at Etsy! That way, YOU'LL be doing the torturing! haha

Browsing, shopping, and HUGE LOVE!

The Art Box | Check It!

If you're like me, you love to keep anything and everything.  Borderline hoarding if you will.  But I keep anything and everything for very very good reason.

You see, when I was young, I had zillions and zillions of costume jewelry accessories.  Had them in all colors of the rainbow.  I also used to sport Buick-size hair bows.  I had dainty little ruffle socks, and even had bells attached to my frilly dresses.  I rocked the latest Burger King crown, and sassafras-ed with the latest Barbie's.

I remember all of this childhood goodness...  Some of it, my mother has cherished and stored in a box especially for me.  My sisters have their own box of childhood goodies as well. I've even started one for my hubby. (He'll thank me later, I'm sure of this.)

When I was a teenager, I had a teenybopper infatuation with childhood play things.  I enjoyed continuing my costume jewelry accessorizing, purchasing Barbie dolls, and buying cute hair bows.  Some of which I bought, never used, but instead, saved.

And for good reason...
These are now my daughter's play things, hair bows, and sassy accessories.  I had even saved a spoon and fork set that I had bought a few years back, before I had even met my husband.  These, my daughter now uses during mealtime.  It brings a smile to my heart.  I know that when she grows older, I will be able continue to be able share the childhood goodness with her, and she will do the same whenever she, herself, has kiddos.

Yes, all of this is materialistic, but I figure why not enjoy it as much as we can before we leave it behind?  Why not cherish these memories, and wonder what memories that beautiful porcelain doll had, or those squeaky clean patent leather shoes had?  While dreaming of such possible memories, the imagination soars.  Especially, when you have a photograph to give it some backbone.  I remember those squeaky clean patent leather shoes... in those shoes, on my 1st Birthday, I gave the kitchen tile floor a huge hug.  (clumsiness has always been in my blood)

Aislynn is a 3yr old artist.  I say artist, because I believe in my heart you don't have to hold the professional status to claim the status.  Artistry, is creativity authored by your heart and soul.  This, I see whenever Aislynn picks up a paint brush, marker, or a pair of scissors.  I thoroughly enjoy watching her imagination come to life on paper. Soon enough, unfortunately, it became where I had no room left to display her work.  Because her creativity continues to flow like Niagara Falls, I had to think of something, and on a trip to Ikea, I found my answer...

A box.
Yes, a simple box.

I can't wait to fill these up, and buy more!
Now, I can store her work, keep it dust free, and its all in one single place.  =]

Check them out, here!
They are fairly inexpensive, and for the price, they are pretty darn sturdy!   They have them in a variety of shapes and size as well as colors and styles, too.  (I, personally, got red floral ones to compliment the theme of our bedroom.)

Off beat... | Check it! Thursday

Okay, ladies, I checked my post options, and scheduled the post to post when I wanted, but it didn't work...
I dunno... I'm more than likely sure this post will post tomorrow. BOO. =(

Anywho...
I'm gonna kinda skip on today's Check It!
I've been crazy busy this week, and with it being already Thursday, it sure has paid off!

UPDATES:

Hubby is no longer a temp-hire, but instead a full time employee of the company. He's officially on the Payroll!!!  I almost couldn't contain my excitement, yesterday! I am so so so soooo very proud of him! He is such a hard worker, and any company would be just completely blessed to have him on their team! And may I say, it is just beyond amazing to witness someone's life unfold.  The hubbs is so charismatic and boy, does he love to talk.  His work ethic is top notch, and he gets the job done.  This position is absolutely perfect for him, and fits him like a glove! I truly believe in my heart, this is a huge stepping stone to something incredibly great in the future!  God knows what's up! WAY TO GO, BABE!

With this new and improved schedule I'm on, I'm trying to stay as busy as possible.  Meaning, less internet time. My emails are beginning to pile up, and I try my best to sort through them when I get the chance. Finding that chance is the hard part. Hubby gets home, and computer/work time is immediately shut off and shut down in order to spend good quality time together.  And during the day, I try my best to stay away from any sitting activity.  I promise you the computer has some sort of power that radiates itself to my hunger pains.  I just get this need to snack, snack, snack.  SO, to avoid any temptation, I, well...avoid the scenario all together. This will different once my site launches, but in the mean time, I shall train my body, brain, and tummy to strictly work on photography related business and not on getting chunkier.

Jr and I have our first marriage coaching class tonight, and like yesterday, I can hardly contain my excitement.  I'm nervous, anxious, and all kinds'a happy!  We are truly excited to see where this takes our marriage, and ultimately our family!  I just hope we don't come out of there hating each other. haha!

I still have a long ways to go until my schedule is exactly where I wanna be, but hey, everyone's gotta start somewhere, right?  I can't wait to post tomorrow's Fat Girl Slim!  I have some wonderful news, and something very enlightening to share with you guys!

Until then, have a mahhhhvelous Thursday!!
Tootles!

HUGE LOVE!
