Although I live, eat, and breathe photography, Jesus is my first love and forever will be. Without Him, I am nothing, but with Him, "I can do ALL things." (Philippians 4:13) I thank Him everyday for blessing me with the talent to see the world in a different light, and I strive to use my potenial to do the work of His Kingdom, for it is not the talent that matters, but how it is put to use. He died for me, so I live for HIM!
My love for photography began a little over 3 years ago, shortly after the birth of my beautiful daughter. With a simple point and shoot digital Kodak Easy Share camera I began photographing her every move not wanting to miss a single heartbeat. I quickly discovered photography had not only become a beloved hobby of mine, but had catapulted itself into a passion of mine!
I am currently a freshman at the Art Institute of Houston- North going for my BFA in Photography. Starting in May 2009, I was provided with my VERY FIRST DSLR, and to be quite honest, I was terrified. NEVER had I even so much handled a DSLR, frightened I would drop it or even worse - break it. It literally took me an entire two months just to get that precious piece of equipment out of it's box, and since then it has yet to leave my side!
I still have a vast amount of knowledge to etch into my "youthful" brain, and I honestly didn't think there was such an abundance of knowledge pertaining to just portraiture photography alone, much less photography in general...my goodness! But, it's super duper exciting, and I wouldn't have it any other way! Everyday I pick up my camera, I learn something new; something insanely innovative, and like Mr. Gump, I just run with it! The never ending road of photog knowledge will forever continue, and that is one of the numerous reasons why I find photography super intriguing! It allows to me to outlet my creativity in ways I never thought possible!
All in all, I just love photography! No wait...I am IN love with photography! I'm in love with not only capturing just a photograph, but capturing one's soul; one's silent thoughts; one's innocence; that ONE specific moment in time; that one moment that will NEVER EVER be repeated. To be apart of something so beautiful is simply amazing, and I am truly honored and undeniably blessed, because after all it isn't about us as photographers, but instead its about our subjects and the smile upon their face which is absolutely PRICELESS! They are the ones that make an image "worth a thousand words".
