THANK YOU SO SO MUCH!
Together, we have helped make a difference in these people's lives!
Together, we are giving them HOPE!
Together, we are fighting blood cancers, everywhere!

I must say, it was a very humbling experience.
Same, as March of Dimes.
You just feel GREAT doing something for somebody else.
Being generous by giving your time, your efforts, and even through this crummy economy, your finances.

It was tough seeing small children flying the "white" balloons, which represent survivors.
And it was even harder to see a selected few carrying the "gold" balloons, which represent those who lost their battle.

In addition to walking, some shared their stories of their struggle and their survival.
I couldn't help but think to myself, "I don't think I could handle something so severe like that...", but then my cousin reminded me, "I'm sure they thought the same thing when they were told the news."

Doing events like this, puts my life into further perspective.
You just never know, and this is why its so very very important to live everyday with purpose, and to always keep an attitude of praise.

A lady approached me and asked if I could take her family's picture. Of course, I said yes!
I noticed that the woman in the middle holding her 2 children, had "SURVIVOR" written on her shirt. And her 2 children had "My mom kicked cancer's butt!" written on theirs.  I had to sorta push my emotions to the side to snap a couple of shots, but it was amazing to witness a family come together for their loved ones. They were full of life and so very much full of spirit.

After taking the shots, I gave each person back their camera, and the mother of the woman said, "Thank you. We will pray for your family..." I hesitated for a second, and I think she realized this...  She thought I was there to support a family member. I told her, "Well thank you, but I'm actually here to support everyone." And she herself was taken aback. She said, "Wow. Really? Well thank you so very much! God bless you."

And in that moment, I knew I was at the right place at the right time.
Just as some of you who donated to this cause even though you don't personally know a victim, a sponsor, or a walker/supporter.

Its such a reassuring feeling, that even though we may not know all of the details, we know God has the upper hand, and will distribute the money and blessings accordingly.

I know this won't be my last walk, as I am looking for other walks to attend, but I'm grateful to have been given this opportunity, and I pray for those who are still fighting, and for those who have already fought, that God may continue to bless their hearts and renew their strength.

Thank you again for your kind donations!

And just as a reminder, I am also walking next weekend, October 24th, for a good and dear friend of mine, who was directly affected by a blood cancer. To read her story, click here.

Also, Jr, my hubbs will be walking with the team as well!
This is his first walk, so I ask that instead of donating to my personal page, please consider making a donation to his personal page.
